Financial bumps and negative cash flow are bound to happen when you are an entrepreneur. Here are just a few tips to ensure you make it through without too much pain.
RE-SHAKE THE TREES: When you go into “survival mode” the first thing I recommend is “shake the trees”. Go back to your old clients and suggest a program for them to “keep the learning alive”. Sometimes that low hanging fruit is right there, ready to fall off the tree.
RE-VIEW YOUR PIPELINE: Clients often tell me they have a shoe box full of leads they haven’t followed up. Make sure no stone goes unturned, no call goes unmade, no email goes unwritten. Taking action is a great way to get out of a rut.

RE-VISIT OLD LEADS: Sometimes you think leads are gone when you don’t hear back from the organizer. Don’t imagine you know what’s happening at the other end of the line, you don’t! Continue to plant seeds until you confirm. A quick email that says, “after your enquiry, I’ve sent you a couple of emails but haven’t heard back. I don’t want to pester you, but I am certainly interested and will try again a few times”. Events you think have gone by the wayside may simply be waylaid because the planner has something else going on.
RE-MOVE THE FEAR: Try not to make all of your decisions based on fear. I know that’s easier said than done, but don’t book reduced fee gigs for 15 months out. You’ll regret it when you get there. When you start to give it away because you are in “fear and survive” mode, you might be damaging your brand. I “get” that the bills need to be paid sometimes. Just be aware and ensure anything you do at a reduced fee stays confidential between you and the planner and you get something in return.
RE-PACKAGE EXISTING PRODUCTS: If you have books and other products, package them up differently and go back to your fan base. Stir up some excitement!
RE-PROGRAM THE MIND: Last, but not least – listen to a wealth meditation every day for 30 days. It’s easy to get sucked into a negative space, which feeds more negativity. Replace those thoughts quickly with something more positive. Re-condition for success. (Stay tuned as I’m working on a audio for this!)
